What is Husky Buck$?

Deposited funds, known as Husky Buck$, are prepaid and linked to your USM Card. Your account balance declines as funds are spent. Funds rollover from year to year. Husky Buck$ are accessed by the Cardholder for the purchase of products and services at the University of Southern Maine and surrounding merchants, as available.

What is the difference between the meal plan and Husky Buck$?

Meal plans are purchased and linked to your USM Card for expenditure limited to on-campus dining service locations. Meal plan accounts expire at the end of the spring semester and are not eligible for refund. Please contact Dining Services for additional information.

How can I add funds to my Husky Buck$ account?

Husky Buck$ can be added to your USM Card in person, during business hours at one of our office locations via cash, check or credit card. Secure credit card deposits may be made anytime on-line via our website. Cash to card machines (Card Value Centers) are also available on each campus for anytime cash deposits. You can also deposit online by clicking HERE.

Where can I use Husky Buck$ on campus?

Husky Buck$ are required for on-campus laundry and printing. Additionally, they may be used for USM Bookstore purchases, computing supplies at the Logic Shop, photocopies, vending machines, and all on-campus dining purchases.

How much should I deposit each semester?

Your deposits will reflect your spending habits both off and on-campus. You can always track your expenditures on-line at our website and add funds anytime throughout the year.

What happens if I lose my ID Card?

Cardholders should immediately report a lost or stolen lost card to Campus Card Services at 207-780-LOST or in person, so we can place the spending privileges on hold. After business hours, Cardholders should report lost or stolen cards to USM Police at 207-780-5211 or online via our website.

Can I get a refund of my Husky Buck$?

Yes. Upon graduation or termination as a student or staff member you can request a refund of Husky Buck$. All refund checks are issued through the Bursur’s Office. For student cardholders, Husky Buck$ refund checks are issued after the refund has been posted to the student account.

Are there any restrictions on what I can buy with Husky Buck$?

Yes- you may not purchase alcohol or tobacco products using Husky Bucks. No exceptions made for those over 21 years of age.
